Instead of really showing your emotions in a text-only conversation, emoticons – most of the time – increase the height of the line where the text lies. This is a clear violation of space and a direct offense to the paragraph where the emoticon lies.

The space is added above the line making the paragraph look like a split cadaver; besides, the line where the emoticon lies gets mocked by her friends for the rest of the page…

On behalf of all lines and paragraphs, use emoticons only when its height is the same as the height of a line. Or don’t use them at all, oukeey ?
